Hi Folks,
Hello,
Another note - Our first Central Pennsylvania Chess Championship was a big success. 58 players participated; enough to fill up our playing hall just about to capacity. Peter Minear won the tournament with a perfect 5-0 score and Nathan Zeigler got clear 2nd place with 4.5. The longer time control, whole weekend tournament seems popular and the Central Pennsylvania Chess Association (our group of local TDs who sponsored the Championship) is considering planning more events like this. Let us know if this is something that interests you.
The Brian Costella Memorial tournament will be on September 27th in New Oxford, PA. Brian was the founder of the York Chess Club and our Central PA Scholastic Coordinator. Money raised through this tournament will be used to support scholastic chess in the region. More information can be found at the link below. -- Leteef
